Parks still have space for Labor Day!

More than 85 parks across California still have space for Labor Day - and many of them offer online reservations. This is the PERFECT time to get away! The weather is great and evenings are beginning to cool off. The kids are back to school so it's time to take a break. Why not try somewhere new?
Choose from the list of parks with space available ... and pack up to go!

We've been saying, "You could win a FREE RV!" And we were right! WE HAVE A WINNER!

Thousands of interested fairgoers stopped by the California Camping Adventures interactive exhibit at the State Fair in Sacramento to have fun and learn more about camping.

Both camping enthusiasts and those who were "not so sure" enjoyed games of balloon toss, water relay races and ladderball tournaments. The winners of each game earned prizes including free Weekends of camping donated by the parks listed at Camp-California.com.

Attendees were able to personally chat with representatives from the following Camp-California RV parks & campgrounds:

In addition to camping games and meeting park operators, attendees could also check out some fabulous Tear Drop Trailers - perfect for those who don't have a large tow vehicle or who just like the compact size. Using one of these is still so much better than sleeping on the ground. Besides, they are really eye catching and you'll be the talk of the neighborhood!

The Grand Prize was also on display and folks were encouraged to check it out and dream a little. Wouldn't they love to have one of their own to check out the joys of camping? Many thanks again to Happy Daze RV of Sacramento and Crossroads RV who provided the Slingshot trailer. We appreciate their support of us and are happy to reward our loyal readers!

Tuesday night, the finalists gathered on the Promenade Stage along with representatives from Happy Daze and Crossroads. The prizes were awarded starting with the prize with the least monetary value - but still wonderful - a tent and a certificate for a weekend of free camping. The prizes grew in value until there were three left ... the RV grand prize, a week RV Rental from El Monte RV Rentals or a $1000 cash! They were all great prizes!

In the end, Mike & Gary Spiller were the winners of the coveted grand prize. This is what they had to say, " We want to Thank You for making it possible for us to win the Slingshot Trailer provided by Happy Daze R.V. We were so surprised, speechless, for sure. We enjoyed our time at the State Fair and of course when they called our Ace of Hearts as the winner, WOW. Thanks again."

Gold Country

Gold, with its glittering promise of the sweet life, once lured into this region more than 300,000 fortune seekers from the far reaches of the world. From 1848 onward, the 49ers, as they were called, staked their claims in the streams and foothills of the Sierra Nevada, covering a 300-mile-long area known as the Mother Lode. Countless events are scheduled throughout 1999 and 2000 California's Sesquicentennial is celebrated. Local parks will be able to inform you of special events in the area.

Lying just east of the Central Valley this region covers the foothills where gold was found including Sierraville and Downieville in the north and continues along Hwy 49 to Oakhurst and Coarsegold in the south. This region is a gateway to Yosemite National Park.

Stay at any of our RV parks and campgrounds and you'll be near all the fun! Learn more>
