How to have fun with your kids!

mark heightTry these creative ideas for having fun with your kids:

Mark Heights on Fabric: Why not do this traditional activity in your RV and make it part of your camping memories? Tack a strip of fabric on the wall and use a felt pen to track your kids’ growth ... and note the vacation you were enjoying when you marked their height. You'll really enjoy seeing how tall your child was when you went to Disneyland the first time, or saw Banana slugs on the the North Coast. And, if you get a new RV, take it with you! Do one for each child for their own personal momento.

Build super sand castles. Head to one of many California beaches to build sand castles. If you forget to bring buckets & sand tools, spoons, knives & bowls will do! See who can build the tallest sandcastle, or the best moat!

Featured Region: Shasta Cascade Trinity

burney fallsWhether you seek high adventure on a rugged peak or a leisurely time in a houseboat on a lake, escape to an unspoiled wonderland in California's northeastern corner. With soaring eagles and plunging waterfalls, snowcapped mountains and geothermal mud pots, glistening lakes, dense forests, giant volcanoes, and many rivers running through it, Shasta Cascade is where you'll find a great time in the great outdoors.

With fall rapidly approaching, plan a visit to this region to see spectacular fall colors - California style. With warm days and crips nights, this area will welcome you to relax, or get active ... your choice.

Lassen National Park in the western portion of the region is a must-see attraction. With it's geo-thermal activity it reminds many of Yellowstone Nat'l Park. Shasta Lake and Mt. Shasta dominate the center of the region and are really a sight to see. Burney Falls (pictured here) are unique and even folks who have seen many waterfalls appreciate the way the water seems to appear out of solid rock. Trinity and Lewiston lakes are also well known for their recreational opportunities.

Just driving through this spectacular region will give you a thrill -- over and over. Be prepared to be patient and smell the wildflowers along the way as many of the roads are curvey, but generally in good condition. You won't want to rush through this amazing scenery!
